The Brewers, for the third week in a row, scored 2 runs. The Pericos had a 3 run fourth inning to account for all of their runs, which was enough to beat us, 3-2. Ricardo Gomez started, and allowed 3 unearned runs in 3 2/3 innings. Kaim Marquez relieved Ricardo, and was lights out, pitching the rest of the game, 4 1/3 innings, allowing only 2 hits, 0 runs, and striking out 4. Our defense was good for the second week in a row, with a couple of ground ball double plays by Bryan Morales, Tommy Miller and Pedro Acosta. The hitting was led by Joel Nunez and Pedro Acosta, with 2 hits a piece, while Angelo Aguilar pitched in with a double, our only extra base hit of the day. Brewers are now 1-2, and look to get back in the Win column vs the Tribu at home next Sunday, June 2.

A great team win today vs. the Burros, 2-1, brings our record to 1-1. The pitching and defense was on point. Brady Hunt started it off with 4 scoreless innings, followed by Mike Ramirez, who pitched 4 innings of 1 run ball, and Manny Zaragoza closing the door with a 1-2-3 ninth inning and earning the save. Mark Valente led the offense with 2 hits. The go ahead run belonged to Jake Olafson, getting on first base with a HBP, and immediately stealing 2nd and 3rd base, and then being driven in by a single by Mark Valente. The Brewers take on the 0-2 Pericos, who will be hungry for a W next week. We will need to bring our 'A' game, once again. |
